dancing about architecture

Pretty sure this is exactly what I was doing at the last Autechre show I went to, and it felt good.

I hearby nominate "dancing about architecture" most IDM 2018

can someone explain why this album is good?

Music is subjective

Definitely. I know my singing in the shower is a 9/10 for some review sites.

Essential.

What the shit - he was sampling pop superstar vocalists almost exclusively?  How did he get all those samples cleared?  Did nobody sue?

I just assumed they were so damn pitch shifted and time stretched it was a moot point. Some instrumental hip-hop seems the same way, like this Dilla's stuff ~ 2:00 onward especially is a good example

What is really impressive is the trainspotters who ID the samples.

I heard he used to sample from cover versions and stuff to get round that ( not sure if that's true and even if it is, could you still be sued for that?)

Anyhow the samples are so well mangled that maybe queen bey and the likes never even noticed! :)

Yeah you got a point. I still need to go back and actually listen to it again. The samples of it from all these videos sound good.

The Aguilara one is a live version from a youtube clip so there's that. One of his samples is a youtube video of a girl covering a song so again that's like not a direct sample from a studio album.

I'm sorry guys, it's a bad artist.

South London Boroughs and Kindred Eps are my favourite discs from Burial, Kindred in particular is the exact point where he showed a huge leap in progression from his earlier sound. I was expecting epic things from him at that point, but for me it never materialised.

I don't give a rats arse about Untrue either, but you know I've had plenty of people (including here on watmm HQ) who tell me Pink Floyd are boringly terrible....

Yeah? Fuck you (in a nice way)
