octopus pie introduced me to the shaggs and I’m ashamed it took me so long to discover their brilliance. glad they are still appreciated by other weirdos like me

oh for sure, absolute goddesses of classic outsider music - every time I revisit their stuff I realize it is avant-garde and not just in the novelty "so bad it's good" camp. it's truly mesmerizing stuff, same level as Jandek or the Residents at times.
