lmao..... so someone from anonymous hacked into the darknet site known as "Wikipedia.com" and read the entry on Musk only to have their blind lust for the man shattered by facts that have been publicly available for years.

Justin Ehrenhofer, a cryptocurrency compliance expert and member of the monero developer community, said that at the beginning of 2020, its use by ransomware gangs was “a rounding error.” Today he estimates that about 10 to 20 percent of ransoms are paid in monero and that the figure will probably rise to 50 percent by the end of the year.

Monero emerges as crypto of choice for cybercriminals (ARStechnica)

Big ups to whichever one of the half dozen or so remaining millenial libertarians managed to hold onto his guy fawkes mask all these years in order to keep making these videos

Unrolled thread.

Dogecoin creators have become cryptocurrency critics.

  Quote
After years of studying it, I believe that cryptocurrency is an inherently right-wing, hyper-capitalistic technology built primarily to amplify the wealth of its proponents through a combination of tax avoidance, diminished regulatory oversight and artificially enforced scarcity.

Despite claims of “decentralization”, the cryptocurrency industry is controlled by a powerful cartel of wealthy figures who, with time, have evolved to incorporate many of the same institutions tied to the existing centralized financial system they supposedly set out to replace.

The cryptocurrency industry leverages a network of shady business connections, bought influencers and pay-for-play media outlets to perpetuate a cult-like “get rich quick” funnel designed to extract new money from the financially desperate and naive.

all critiques of cryptocurrency are merely critiques of capitalism.  critiques of purchasing cryptocurrency are anti working class in that they leave more of the remaining crypto for the owning class.

cryptocurrency is superior money, the most superior type that has ever existed.  if you don't like it, you better start considering how we should be moving beyond money entirely.  and the only way to do that is socialism and communism.

pretending crypto does not exist and leaving it to the financial institutions is not going to solve the problem of crypto.  and if you wanted to be smart, as every worker should try to be under capitalism, you'd hold some crypto.

holding crypto is not contradictory with wanting money abolished since we are in the present

this is why i can't take left critiques of cryptocurrency from the right (non-communist) seriously

at the very least their great (great, great?) grandchildren will pay the consequences

>china declares cryptocurrency transactions illegal

>bitcoin price barely affected

this is good for bitcoin

there's literally no way to enforce that cryptocurrency transactions are illegal unless they can magically solve problems like

-cracking all cryptography

-cracking all steganography

-completely turning off the internet

even turning off the internet isn't enough because you can make paper cryptocurrency transactions and send them through the mail

but anyway, most critiques of cryptocurrency are pretty weak and pathetic.  im going to try to make a strong one

by the way, to explain that last point of sending paper cryptocurrency transactions through the mail, i mean generating a transaction in the appropriate format for that cryptocurrency, signing it with your private keys, saving it as a binary file, and printing the binary string as a raw QR code or steganographically encode it in a picture or printed letter, or even a microdot containing miniatureized versions of this, and sending it through the mail, which likely the chinese government is literally incapable of ever discovering due to the sheer quantity of mail.  or deliver it by hand.  will this scale for mass economic purposes? doubtful, and on a mass economic level of running a shop with this method, the authorities could find it fast.  but anyway ill shut up

China bans crypto like every 6 months. They just gonna buy the dip and bail out evergrande when they make it legal again.
