Anyone remember a cartoon drawing montage of people into various dance genres made back in the early-mid 00s? IDM was definitely one genre and the guy looked eerily like myself back when the cartoon was drawn: Goatee guy (think back then it was known as 'IDM beard') with glasses - Kinda Gordon Freeman-esque

I never really claimed that, not sure why you thought so. I should have framed it better though like "If you, just like me, think that the most important criterion of a good track is the arrangement, then you'd probably agree that it's true". To be honest, jaderpansen has a point - you come across as really pompous and arrogant whilst presenting that Ae track as an example of a "not so interesting arrangement", and how vaguely you use that to back your opinion that there's something wrong with today's electronic music (that track was made in the late 90s, let's not forget that).

Plus, that 'better framing' you presented just now is equally wrong - it's still completely short-sighted, filtering everything through the "good arrangement" prism. "If you are like me, with my 12 years of painting, you will agree that all modern art needs to be beautifully symmetrical. Hmm, that Francis Bacon painting isn't symmetrical! Therefore it's boring."

Personally I'd appreciate and watch your videos if you were on point, laser-focusing on a specific technique or analysis you may have to share eg an arrangement technique, a synthesis technique, an analysis of this or that harmonic/melodic/rhythmic feature of an AFX track. Just do that with no faffing around, and maybe you wouldn't be "a nobody with 250 followers" as you say.

Pretty much did that in the Wisp video, but thanks. I didn't expect the vid to get that much attention anyway
