The campaign (at this stage) is definitely for existing fans, normal peeps wouldn't notice a thing about these posters.

They don't need to drum up more fans, they are spending enough on the promo as it is to be drumming up new potential listeners. They will be hoping that new peeps will catch on to the hype as it builds through music sites writing about it probably.

 

So, are these all at record shops? Was the Turin one a record shop behind the shutter?

So 2 logo's facing each other significantly, in London to kick it off...

Hmmm, Maybe listening parties at the stores? Next we will maybe get some people finding tickets or a way to get tickets to these.

I’ll try to find out (unless the interwebs does first). I practically live at Amoeba. I was actually surprised how little info they were given during the Syro hype period. I think they get very little information, to start. I’m sure they are just stoked to have a site-specific advert for one of the most influential artists of the 20th/21st century. The rest is, as they say, “gravy”.

It’s actually a brilliant location for any advert, in general. That street of Cahuenga is notorious for heavy rush-hour traffic jams. I’m sure thousands of people stare at it for long stretches every day and have no clue what the fuck it is.

tbh i only found myself going back to a few tracks off syro over & over (and that likely has a lot more to do with me going through a phase of life where i wasn't devoting much energy to other ppl's music in general, rather than it being an unworthy album), but some of the things he's put out since then have been fockin killllah (i feel like i'd rank cheetah ep right up there with my favs). lookin forward to whatever he comes out with, which i can't say about too many of the other musicians i was into at age 19

Are you from Seattle? I watched a cookery program the other day 'The Lay Off' with Anthony Bourdain. Looks like a proper fucking great place to eat and drink and other stuff. After watching that I'd be tempted to take a visit.

The culinary and bar scene here is the only thing that’s directly benefited from our massive tech boom of the last decade or so. Amazonians are all foodies, I guess. If only they would stop bulldozing beloved, century-old music venues in favor of 44-story condos.

 

TL;DR great place to visit for sure but housing is a nightmare and nightlife scene has been taking hits recently.

 

Also our IDM scene is basically five guys playing in each other’s parents’ basements.
