So it's an EP, 5 tracks, fits on 1 LP.

My hype boaner is a little less chubbed now, was really feeling ready for an album. 4 years since Syro seems like a good interval.

Here's hoping there's more coming soon enough.

Seems like a huge interval. 

1992: SAW85-92

1993: SOSW

1994: SAWII, AB3

1995: ICBYD

1996: RDJ Album

1997: Come to Daddy

 

Not to mention 21 other EPs and singles in that period - some of which were compiled to make Classics and Compilation, effectively two more albums - not to mention the Caustic Window LP which was scrapped because he'd already moved on past it, sound-wise. It seems mad how slowly things work in the industry these days. I know more money comes from touring now, hence the bigger gaps and need to hype up every album as a 'comeback', but for an artist like Aphex I can't see that being so important. Syro feels like an age ago to me.

I suspect tomorrow we will get a new video directed by that Ryan kid (last one said "to be continued"). I hope it's all new, previously unheard material. The primavera track would be a welcome exception but other than that I hope this consists of purely

Oh, I'm still very much excited about this and you have a good point about the rdj album, though I feel like the LPs are always stronger as a whole where the EPs are stronger in spots. Plus, outside of rdj the other albums are longer, especially Drukqs and SAW 2. Imagine getting that much new material dropped on us. 

 

 

And I guess I lied about it having to be fresh to warrant excitement.

So its technically premiering 1:30 AM EST Tuesday

It's on the "on-air" schedule and not the livestream. So i'd imagine that means it's going to be on TV.
