So what are the parameters for admiring a good drum programmer?

Knowing when it's appropriate to cut the midrange and drop the bass.

i think it was paradox  - he was well bloody good in Berlin with his ancient set-up and jungle-sample quips!

Yeah, it was the perfect warmup to Richard. It might not be as good a live set for listening to on your headphones at home, but when you where on the dancefloor I had just as much fun during his set as Richard's. Extra impressive seeing that he didn't seem to get to use the venue's full lights-and-screens setup as Richard did.

The exact same things can be said about Luke Vibert that night!

Is there a recording of it?

lil' ol' Wisp is an honorable mention for a fantastic 'drum programmer' IMO. I feel like he might actually smack teh skinz in real life too, but I've never asked.

very agree'd. Sandwhiching dick - eh hem -  between Paradox n Vibert was unreal. Nearly as good as that time pusher, aphex, ceephax and snares all played b2b! (STRP 2009)

No funkahus recording of vibert as far as i nose
