This is going to seem really ridiculous for some but I always knew Herbie Hancock as a background force. I loved the "Rockit" video when I was a kid. 

I just heard the "Head Hunters" album for the first time and it blew my mind. I haven't stopped listening to it for days. I see "Hard Normal Daddy" in an entirely new light 22 years later. 

When "Sly" kicks off at 2:02, lawd have mercy

Wow this is amazing holy shit! I have to dive into Herb's discog now

My list would embarrassingly 90's/early 2000's heavy, despite being into tons of music from most eras.  For the most part it's the stuff I got deep into the 10 years after high school.
