Support Artists During Covid-19 Pandemic on Bandcamp

Quazarz: Born on a Gangster Star - Shabazz Palaces

^foolishly ignored this on release despite loving their previous two, and despite typically focusing on supporting local artists during waived Fridays, the BLM right now compels me to be slightly more willing to brave the USD and contribute in some minimal way. This is exactly what I want from SP, can't complain with what they offer here. And also given they have a new one out which they can't tour on.

Mr Experience - Donny Benet

^his best LP yet, a little less silly, a little more consistently refined, and another supa banger in Girl of My Dreams. Plus local.

was gonna spend $40

then i got to $50

then i ended up over $80

oh well

at least i stopped before i got to $100. this time.

lots of good stuff of course, check here for my collection if you're interested...

but this one was a rec from one of the threads here that i was overjoyed to see on Bandcamp so i'll highlight it

'Bandcamp Friday' (waiving their share of the proceeds) again tomorrow (or already for some of you)

Who's got rec's?

Have to sit this one out, as I just shelled out overs for a beloved film on rare oop dvd (easily triple the price of when it was newly stocked), and finally picked up The Saints - All Times Through Paradise (basically a deluxe edition of their strong late 70s heyday) for a pretty good deal.

Been mostly in the mood for revisiting old hip-hop faves the last month or so anyway during BLM, and after dabbling in a few of these Fridays you build up a little purchased queue.

FYI - If you have somehow managed to avoid diving into Bjork until now, her catalog hit Bandcamp in recent weeks for about 7 pounds each.

A few albums I bought in recent times I want to share everyone because they're fucking good. I badly want to buy more but don't have much money myself, but when I do in the beginning of the month I should really save some for musix since I did get a vinyl player today.

*just realized as I'm typing this I didn't buy the Nkurence album yet fuuuu, must do this month before I go broke again:

Also Ilkae's full discography is $15 for today which I should fucking try to buy to help support my man to move to a better place to rent

i know what you mean re not being able to buy nearly as much as i'd like. i earn in pesos which really doesnt go far when everything is priced in USD or GBP (especially compared to other forms of entertainment that have regional pricing, like steam games are ~1/2 the cost as the us store)

ive been trying to buy 2 or 3 albums or eps each round though.  Currently eyeing a few eps.

Room Service + 3 by The Living Room [Orlando Voorn]
Collected Ambient Grooves 1993 -... by Osamu Sato

Think I heard about almost all of these from the watmm, but they’re all new to me, really looking forward to digging in. Also highly rec the acrelid et al stuff (there’s a new releases thread about it) — it’s been amazing digging in to that huge pile since the last sale!

Any of you want to post your profiles so I can follow and see what you bought? I find it a good way to find stuff I've missed.
