Aleksi Perälä - Spectrum 0/1/2/3/4/5/6/7

super dope as usual, Aleksi is one of the best, for real !

After first listens. Yes it is more Colundi..but yet another notch up, production wise. Sounds even bigger. Aleksi really on top of his mixing here. Lots of little side paths and unexpected directions in tracks.

Green: lysergic, swampy sounding

Blue: hi tempo lullaby techno

Violet: bit more machine-like (detroitish?) riffy

Red: hot and hazy  very dry hats on this one

Orange: bit more whimsical or proggy.

Yellow: warm, joyus like the Level 17 CD

Grey: this ones all over the place. epic.

i only really liked the first one... :L

listening to spectrum 5 right now and yes, this is super fresh.

Oh jeezus. Haven't kept up with Colundi but I guess I'll at least check out the first in this series. Revisited his first 3 LPs recently and still nothing has topped those.

6 is a properly great album. 5 quite solid too. None of 'em are duds really.

i made a best tracks of 2020 list but then i realized it was basically all tracks from this series. how is he so good. 4,5,6 are soooooo good and probably my fav "album" of the year.

but seriously... this colundi saga is incredible. how he's been able to plow through basically the entire expanded genre of electronic music and riff with his fairly minimal sound palette is very impressive. not only has he done ambient, drone, idm, detroit techno, housey shit, 00s continental techno and everything in between, he's managed to move between a wild range of emotions with this stuff. there's playful, loud, somber, angry, drugged out, sleepy etc etc and yet every track is distinctly his and colundi style. aleksi.... 

Yeah it’s pretty amazing shit, especially considering he basically doesn’t even use synths for any of this. Whatever one might think of colundi as a spiritual zone it clearly coincides with aleksi going into uncharted realms of lushness. 

Bought all of these - incredible music.
