He misspoke. It’s not “zero point zero zero three cents,” it’s 0.3 cents, or three tenths of a cent.

i thought it was even less than .003 cents. i think the base rate is pretty low. some people have better deals though... different tiers

google says this:

Every time someone listens to a song Spotify, it generates royalties. As of January 2019, Spotify reports that it pays out between $0.00331 and $0.00437 per stream to rights holders.

He said he can buy an Xbox game with 20,000 streams, and $60/20,000 is .003 dollars, not .003 cents.

$0.003 is three tenths of one penny

then his math was wrong or his xbox price was wrong.  everywhere i've looked on line has spotify at that .003 cents base royalty rate. shrug.  if you google you'll find the answers in detail or even just check spotify

$0.003 is accurate. royalty for radio play is way way higher.

there's always more details.

In 2022, an anonymous compilation/remix album of fart and queef noises uploaded to Spotify will change culture as we know it and usher in a new age of new age free body jazz that inspires awe, creates countless imitators, and leads to an era of widespread spiritual growth. The children will be fine.

Spotify Is Defending Alex Jones' Appearance On "The Joe Rogan Experience"

  Quote

“We all know that you’ve fucked some things up, right? Your biggest fuckup is Sandy Hook,” Rogan said during the episode. “But you’ve gotten so many things right. This is why I keep talking to you about these things, and that’s why I defend you and why I think it’s fucking dangerous to censor you.”

According to the Verge, Joe Rogan boasted 190 million monthly downloads as of 2019. In last year’s announcement of the exclusive licensing deal, Spotify said, “Bringing the JRE to Spotify will mean that the platform’s more than 286 million active users will have access to one of culture’s leading voices.”

The Joe Rogan “controversy” is great. I’m so cynical that I wonder if the campaigning against him is something Spotify is manufacturing for buzz.

free advertising. alex jones.. such a tool. joe rogan being 'controversial' as well i guess. maybe some of the $100 million they gave joe will trickle down to musicians.

>Ex Spotify CEO Daniel Ek says from the gulag "guards can no longer provide us with merely healthy food, good living conditions, and minimum wage, and expect us to be content, we demand our leadership positions back".  Spotify's infrastructure has gained much more widespread adoption after being open sourced and decentralized

spotify is now offering musicians an "Algorithm Bump" in exchange for a lower rate of royalty.  lols. wtf.
