post your favorite hi hats

I always loved Depth Charge's high end percussion. More usually rides, cymbal bells and tambourine sounds than hats tho. But I really love the graininess he gets, presumably downsampled just right.

This thread has been surprisingly rewarding.  The kick and snare have held the drum spotlight for too long.  Toms still need more love.

So I see we've had Burning'n'Tree, but I think we gotta appreciate the smoothness of the hats in HND, especially Cooper's World and Beep Street.

That breakdown at like 1:05 of Beep Street with the open hi-hat slowing down to launch in to the full funk is mmmm such a nice touch.

the texture here is really nice. sounds saturated or something to make them fuzzy

i think these are perfectly done. i love how the different hats are mixed and have their own character. the filter sweeps on the open hats are just so lush.

all around a lush af tune 10/10 -alco

Fav ae track of all time. I love everything about this percussion.

edit: basically any time John Bonham smashed a stick against a hi hat counts too
