In my entire life i would never have thought to encounter someone that thinks they are an anti-fascist fighting Nazis while they approve of concentration camps where torture and genocide is taking place.

if i'm wrong then i'll be wrong. i just think it's worth calling out it out. on twitter, where inauthentic posters are more of a thing, with many of them it's really easy to spot them. there are combinations of behavior patterns and characteristics that can fill in a tell-tale picture. i'm not saying i'm certain, but: the behavior is the same, regardless of the intent of the individual behind the keyboard. whether he is or he is not, he is acting like one.

Russia is indiscriminately targeting civilians. They are invading a neighboring nation with brute force. This is completely inseparable from the demands, the demand is asserted with murderous might. You cannot pretend to be against war, pretend to be concerned about the working class, while simultaneously condoning as reasonable a pathetic capitalist thug who’s dropping bombs on innocent people. 
 

I find you a confusing person sometimes, but never more than in this instance. There’s nothing reasonable about Putin and if you think it’s acceptable for one of the great military superpowers to assert their will against a neighboring country while coming from a place of “reason” you’re a just truly, deeply confused person.

"principled leftism" isn't when you support a right wing dictatorship that punishes its own citizens by cutting off their water supply in an act of attempted genocide when they vote to secede, over the country they voted to be a part of which liberated them by returning their water supply back to functioning.  "principled leftism" isn't when you ignore how ukraine has ignored the minsk agreements for almost a decade, perpetrating violence against its own citizens to the point where putin decides, rightly or wrongly, to militarily invade in defense of the people of donetsk and luhansk.  there is no point siding with one bourgeois right wing dictatorship over another or choosing one right wing dictator over another.  the only "principled leftist" position is to side with the citizens which right now means, for crimea and donbas regions, insisting that zelensky sign a peace treaty with putin and end the war immediately, meeting putin's demands.  the outcome is better.  i don't care what kind of bullshit ideological explanations you can try to come up for what i am saying, all i care about is that the war ends immediately and the people aren't forced to fight for the ukrainian ruling class's border disputes

it would be great if other people could put forward their positions as well.  what do you suggest, ukraine keeps trying to fight knowing they will simply lose and result in much more death?  note I said result in much more death, not ukraine itself causing more death, clearly it is putin and russian military causing it, but its the result.  so what are your suggestions of what you think should happen?  what do you want?  NATO giving more weapons to ukraine and escalating the violence further?  the only issue I can see with my suggestion is that right wing extremists may kidnap zelensky if he tries to surrender
