recommended cymbal crasher for a night drive, WITH someone else driving, so that you can enjoy a beer or 8.

I saw them live in London a few years ago where they played Burn, something my friends claimed was a rare occurrence. Glorious tune.

The new song is lovely!!

My friends are getting excited about his mention of MULTIPLE new albums. Fellas fellas fellas, let's take a step back and re-assess the situation...

SO ready to blast this album on headphones while autumn leaves fall around me in a dark celebration of my Romantic Melancholy.

I gave the cure album one listen so far. It did not move me emotionally (that could be more my problem, but it also did not disappoint). Its likely a grower not a shower.

Standouts to me are A Fragile Thing and Endsong.

Some lame drum and synth sounds here and there but that has to be a choice, not an oversight.

Not a chance in hell that this album was not written by AI.

It's so bad. Really weird/unusual on the ears (and not in a good way)

It's like listening to nothing.

The uncanny valley is so obvious.

Do they think this is passable?

I totally got that vibe too. I couldn’t have put it better.

Positive Metal Attitude

Been listening to this all weekend. Such a pleasant surprise. For those of you who like it, they did a full live stream followed by what I guess is a "regular" concert on youtube two days ago. Three full hours.

A Fragile Thing is really good, digging the heavy slow vibe and the growling bassline. Warsong is fantastic too; again, really liking the slow/dark/heavy character plus sick guitar solo (as heard live at the Troxy at least).

I think the record is sounding mostly similar to Disintegration and Wish, maybe even Pornography at times (e.g., drumming on All I Ever Am and Endsong) - which is a good thing.

Not a big fan of the piano + orchestral strings, though, or the fuckin w*ndchimes. Oddly enough, this sonic palette sounded more fitting back in the Kiss Me x3 / Disintegration era (in Pictures of You or Homesick, for instance).

Simon Gallup 🖤

Just finished listening to the first 60 minutes of the live stream, and tbh I switched to A Hundred Years from the Trilogy live.

why censor "w*indchimes" though 🤣

Especially with a "fuckin'" just before it

I'm dying

when through bitter life experience and bad trips you gradually develop a scaly crust of cynicism, a hair-trigger of insanity and paranoia, a burden of crushed dreams - then and only then, will you be a true wattmer.

I remember the back of the Disintegration CD said "This music has been mixed to be played loud. So turn it up"

edit: which presumably means it was actually mixed with low compression to preserve the dynamics, which is what the 'atmos mix' above also seems to be doing

I can never say goodbye is just jaw droppingly terrible. Lol at the long build up. And those fuckin w*indchimes 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe I've just not listened to them for too long a time. Not familiar enough with the kind of cure-by-numbers stuff that i presume they've churned out since 1990 (based on the weak shit I've heard since post disintegration era). But if this is considered "typical cure" then i don't even know what that means. If you can listen to their 80s albums and then say this new album is good or "typical cure" then i'm really confused cause it sounds like ChatGPT was asked to produce a parody of a cure album that would be simultaneously miserable sounding yet hilarious in it's awfulness.
