So in summary you've been listening to this 'awful mess of AI-generated nothing' for the past three weeks now?

I’m glad I’m not alone in hating the cure to the max!

Unfortunately it gets played quite a lot on the radio in my kitchen. I am not actively seeking out this dross.

Might play this for the first time a bit later. It's a bit miserable weather wise today. The Cure weather. I've heard (generally) good things about it.

Quick and genuine. All the radio hosts here call The Cure for "goth". Is this goth? If so then I don't know what goth is.

You have a radio station that plays a 10 minute song where the first half is without vocals? Wow. Radio formatting isn´t what it once was.

I love the track btw. Keep listening to that radio!

Not sure where you are from but the UKs biggest radio station used to play 10m plus Autechre tracks in the 90s, so not sure why hearing music from the Cure, one of the biggest and most successful bands of all time would be that strange.

seems like a lot of people in this thread haven't listened to disintegration

A Fragile Thing 7” comes with 2 remixes. The first sounds pretty damn close to the original. The second is sitting in the “Mixed Up/Torn Down” realm.

Yes. Radio 6. My wife has it on in the kitchen. It's for middle aged people. Really bad.

Damn as an alternative radio guy I would kill for Radio 6 just so I can escape having a station that plays nirvana every 2 hours or the corporate one that plays imagine dragons and TikTok hits as new music

Sat down to listen to this album yesterday and I think I now understand what Rubin means. It feels to me like production took precedence over songwriting or something along those lines - the tracks aren't really interesting and quite bland in the instrumentation, like the strings on the second track, some of the melodies and the solos. They get more interesting when the vocals enter, but it seems like each one is more a theme/topic than a song - Warsong for example. And then the production is really showy in trying to fix what isn't there musically, lik e a broadway musical instead of a rock show. Might be a bit harsh, but I couldn't really shake that feeling.

Radio 6 isn't that bad compared to most other radio stations, Hobbs and Ravenscroft are pretty good. But it's like every radio station really, if it's on, day in and day out, sooner or later it will get unbearable.
