Autechre mixes on BBC Radio 6

Wish this was on an hour earlier (or more) I'm old and gotta get up at 5.30 am!

But tempted to stay up for it anyway as also can't help but think there's a chance this isn't just a dj mix!

I have to be up at a similar time....but feck it. It's not every week we get Ae to play us lullabies, is it? (and besides, next week im off to Indonesia for three weeks so I can sleep then!)

It is giving me hope that Sean has said that he thinks everyone has heard all of his record collection at this point.

- Don't play only classic Warp Electro and iDM tracks from just other artists from the past we have heard so many times already 

- No new random Max MSP jams please.. Im Happy with the new 2022- live stuff

- No old low quality hip hop tapes with loads of hiss that is barely audible and not that noisy metal crap thank u! 

What is nice if you play: 

- Unreleased tracks from your huge archive! WTF PLEASE! Specially 95-01 era

- Oversteps and Exai jams

- Everything related with Gescom 

- Experimental music



 

The previous episodes for Artist In Residence on BBC Radio 6, are from Pet Shop Boys and there seems to be a format of different themes for each episode, as seen below

They will be further "drane3" jams, 1hr long, with the tracks they're "djing" getting fed through the scratch-patch

I dunno, the original description definitely mentioned they'd be playing Del tha Funky Homosapien etc.  Much as I'd love 4hrs of unreleased AE I'm not getting my hopes up.

I think the fact certain artists have already been listed indicates these will in fact just be DJ sets. If the station had kept things vague we'd have reason to suspect new original material is coming. But I think "pretending" they're going to dj a bunch of well known artists and then surprising us with something different is beneath their level of integrity. More like something aphex would do.

I will honestly be happy with thematic DJ mixes from Booth/Brown, but the TDR visual, extensive Warp teasing and sudden disappearance of their show description on the website lead me to think that they changed plans last minute and could potentially drop 4 live sessions guess I'll find out tomorrow! have a great listen y'all

Those April, 2018 Tuesdays were wild! I had to come up with a "mystery" affliction that meant had to go to the doctors every Tuesday afternoon so I could get out of work early! Completely got away with it too.
