yeah. i was mocked when i posted a "studio pic". i have a laptop, an external audio/midi interface and a studio condenser microphone. not enough.

Same here. I know someone who has everything he needs to put the label "Studio" on the door. He has wires everywhere, synthesizers here and there etc., but his tunes aren't very good, so it just shows to tell that you don't need tons and tons of equipment to create good tunes.
