it's just some synthporn from synthtopia btw, not acid1's setup.

I am following this topic for quite a while now. What I find disturbing is that nobody posts samples of the music he did with all this equipment. For me that would be the most important part if that equipment really helped them to produce corresponding quality to the setup. Also you could see what this equipment is used for and hear how these setups sound.

I am just asking because I have seen many people buying insane amounts of equipment and they had even serveral cds and stuff but all sounded terrible to no end. I even see that people with minimal equipment often have much better results than these synth-museum kind of guys that always buy equipment to have excuses to not spend more time learning better composing.

as I just said - that isn't acid1's studio.... acid1's music is very good though.

oh right, well if you want to hear samples of music I did with the equipment in my pics, look no further than my signature....

I think you're dead right though, having a shit load of gear counts for sod all if you've got little talent for music. there's only so far presets and randomisation algorhythms can carry you...

exactly. there are so many youtube videos out there where people playing around on priceless equipment and 90% of the music in these videos is just bad as hell. we even have a topic for that.

to be fair. 90% of that studio is pretty uninspiring. at least to me.

he doesn't give a fuck if people think his music is shit. he gets to play with that on a daily basis!

If I had that modular I'd stick a few more cables in the damned thing on general principle.

I'm keeping it simple these days. Living in Copenhagen now for 2 years and couldn't bring all my stuff, but I've actually been more productive with these bits that I ever was. Back to just making music, not toying around. :P

lets not make it a habit to just link pics from the manufacturers websites doods, I'm going to take some pics of my studio which has been changing quite a bit the last year

Midi'd up a typewritter once, used some piezo's sent into gate/pitch detection in Reaktor. Result was "interesting" Kinca cool though, looked like a 1950's Tim Exile
