Resurrecting a thread that is more than 2 years old, just thought I'd mention Myxer. You can upload & edit any audio file from your computer (not sure all the formats it takes, but I've had success with wav and mp3), and it will send it to your phone as a ringtone attached to a text.

Yes, I know it looks like a scam / spam, but I have yet to receive anything from them other than the text with my ringtone; friends of mine who have used the service for the while report the same results, but obviously time will tell. I'm willing to concede that maybe someone here knows some hidden evil about Myxer that I don't know, and if that's true, I'll take down the post. There's no reg necessary to do a custom file. I use Alva Noto's ringtones mostly, except they kind of drive me nuts, but I can hear them super loud.

I've used Teartear for ages now. Starting at 0:20.

i use the first riff of rpeg for text messages, and the first 30 seconds of 6ie.cr for ring.

i hate it though, cause i hate my phone, so every time it rings i'm conditioning myself to hate those parts of those tracks. and i love those tracks. :( i can't think of anything better. my phone didn't come with anything decent. they're all stupid fucking generic songs like "salsa" and "hip hop" and "cool jazz". FUCK IT. not even a plain ol ring, which i'd happily use.

i don't won't to ruin anymore cool songs, so i either have to ruin a mediocre song by having a mediocre ringtone, or compose something myself. i'm too lazy to do or think about any of it. LIFE SUCKS.

the speaker on my phone, and any phone for that matter would do autechre no justice at all. I always keep my phone on vibrate anyways

I just use Vi scose poise which practically sounds like a ring anyway.

I made a Acroyear2 one where it was just the beginning intro bit. I increased the gain, but it was still too quiet.
