Guest timc3
Promo said: Phat. How do you hook up your pcs to get the benefit of numerous pcs? At the moment, the 3 computers I use for music are connected through Midi. Not the best, but for what I need it is ample. Half the time I don't need the Mac laptop or LinuxSampler PC though so they are turned off so not to make too much noise! The servers and internet PC are there for storage (Subversion & Samba) and connecting to websites, trying to keep the music stuff clean. I would love to hook everything up with Ethernet (obviously used for general networking duties at the moment) with control transmitted over that.. One of them has a really high action, so it hurts to play, and the other I leave at school so I don't have to take it there every day. I have sampled some, though. My style doesn't really cater too well to acoustic sounds.
