Guest Adjective
i think without the piano breaks and noisescapes on Drukqs [EXPLICIT LYRICS] available on Amazon it would sort of be stressfull to listen to in one sitting. i do admit that i find myself skipping through, but that's the case with nearly every album i own (once i've listened enough times). so... i guess i can see that some can feel like filler, but despite how things might appear, i think he's probably proud of all the tracks for various reasons, some of which may not be apparent, and that is why they all appear on the album. i think it's a nice portrait of someone with varied tastes and the listenera are often more impressed by specific flavors presented than of others. one can't be brilliant at all forms of music i guess, but i'm glad that he doesn't hide it all away. perunamuusi
if were talking actual albums (saw / saw2 / surfing on sine waves / ICBYD / rdj / drukqs and MFM) not eps (come to daddy / hab / ab's etc) then i think drukqs is the worst of those albums i mentioned the fact that i would still give it a 9/10 and rate it among the best electronica ever made only serves to highlight how utterly excellent richards entire output of full length albums is and as everyone knows - having "favourites" is for gays and babies so yeah ... rdj = 10 drukqs = 9 whatever Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/18959-richard-d-james-drukqs/page/2/#findComment-388328 Share on other sites

However he has done this in the past and i have called him on it so maybe this is why it came off this way (smojphace noise being a prime example) LUDD said: if were talking actual albums (saw / saw2 / surfing on sine waves / ICBYD / rdj / drukqs and MFM) not eps (come to daddy / hab / ab's etc) then i think drukqs is the worst of those albums i mentioned the fact that i would still give it a 9/10 and rate it among the best electronica ever made only serves to highlight how utterly excellent richards entire output of full length albums is and as everyone knows - having "favourites" is for gays and babies so yeah ... rdj = 10 drukqs = 9 whatever yeah i pretty much agree with this too, its still an excellent album compared to the wealth of electronic music out there and besides maybe Go Plastic i cannot think of another "drill" album that is this much fun. ten fingers ten toes
So, this inspired me to come up with an aphex release chart. Personal one, we should all make our own: RDJ > Analord > SAW 85 - 92 > SAW2 > AB3 > HAB > ICBYD > AB4 > JREX > Drukqs I think that's how I would rate them. RDJ > Drukqs > Come To Daddy > 26 MFC > SAW1 > Windowlicker > HAB > AB1 SAW2, Melodies From Mars, and ICBYD I put in a seperate category because all three seem to fit their own seperate of genre of music imo Richard D. James album far surpasses all of them to me. Also another thought...how many people here listen through the entire American release, and how many stop when the original was supposed to? Alot of the extra tracks are good but they seem so out of place that I tend to stop partway through Logon Rock Witch because its just too much weirdness after the high Girl/Boy song puts me in. Guest Idiron
Drukqs is the best album ever made. There isn't any proof for it, but it is actually scientific fact. Anybody who disagrees is gay, black or gay and black. Blackgays. Guest Rook
Drukqs>RDJ>Analords>Come to Daddy>ICBYD>SAW>26 MFC> HAB>Classics>ABB It feels really weird putting classics and really any of them so close to the end. I like all of them. And truthfully, if I had to choose one, I would suffer a panic attack choosing between Drukqs and RDJ album. I still say Drukqs is the best album though. I also like the idea of putting SAW II in a different category. Its not like the others, and it feels wrong putting it near the end.
