who of you smelly crusties are going to Glade

I'm starting to get nervous - this isn't the first time there's been a question mark over the license this year. It really ought to go through, though - has there ever been any trouble? It certainly had a great vibe last year as far as I saw.

Going back to the smelly crusty thing, I hope they have more showers this year. I only went once last time 'cos of the queues and wet wipes dont' really get the job done for me.

It does make you feel a hell of a lot better though, esp after a few days of sweating in your tent! I don't see any problem with it, I went last year half way through the festival at about 7pm (just before it shut and there was nothing on I wanted to see)... I came out feeling awesome!

i didnt shower, afraid ide get psy-trance aids or something. then again, i dont smell much and was too busy having out of body experiences to notice mine!

ooh, and im glad the tickets are delayed - waiting for a check to clear!

I'm optimistic, I was having a bit of a read of the licence application the other day and it seems like they've already addressed a lot of the issues or got some good plans in place. I think the council/licensing committee/police are just picking holes but the glade organisers will come through...

Good news about early bird tickets as well. Oh and boki - they're improving the showers this year according to the licence application!

Wouldn't be enough time to plan it for another site, the amount of paperwork that needs to be filled out is astonishing. For some reason though I always have an absolutely amazing time at Glade, Im always very cynical about it beforehand, and to me that sounds like it's been rejected and their banking on them seeing some sense in their appeal. I doubt if they'll sell out in Glastonbury style time - last year it took ages and there will be more tickets this year. I really want to see the lineup I need another Squarepusher Aphex double bill.

Im not really fussed about being filthy but half an hour for a shower in the morning when you've got nothing else to do isnt bad... went down a treat. Getting a 2L bottle of water and pouring that on your head is pretty good too though.

A few of my mates used these these last year. Ok so it's not a proper shower and you can't get nekkid and have a proper wash but it saves queuing for showers which kept going off halfway through.

I never bother with all that, too much like hassle when you could be getting mashed really.

Apparently the license has been granted, but with a limited capacity of 12,500 (apparently) and limits on volume levels (unknown). Just need to wait and see if it'll still go ahead, the limitations might be too much for the organisers.

bet it gets banned. fascists.

I wonder if they can appeal these decisions?

If capacity is reduced, this means ticket prices will certainly go up, which is why I'm guessing they hadn't announced the cost yet.

And the sound was SO quiet last year too. I could talk easily over DJ Producer's gabba kicks!!! It sounds like the Council don't have a lot of faith in the whole Funktion rig thing they are proposing.

Decision will be made this evening and an e-mail will be sent.

i've been nosy-ing round the interweb on the subject of decibels and things don't look good. does anyone here think in decibels?

So fucking happy they got the licence!! Even if sound levels will be lower to be honest I've always been at the front of the tents/stages so haven't ever noticed the dips in sound in previous years - just get to the front, innit.
