The "I'M SO SORRY SCARLETT DON'T HATE ME FOREVER!!!" 1st paragraph. Normally Pitchfork would take so much pleasure in trying to really drive the spike deep, right off the bat, on some kind of hokey "let's have hip modern musicians do a Tom Waits cover album!" piece of dung such as this. But no...Scarlett=popularity, so they kiss her ass instead. The obvious nature of that kind of sycophancy is disgusting.

thats not how i see it. i didnt write the review but if i did i wouldnt call it the worst album ever. for one its not that bad (in places). two its brave. as for scarlett johannson i dont really care who she is or whether shes popular.

maybe i missed the asskissing. seems you're reading too much into the review.

next up julia stiles does a fall cover album!!

jessica alba could do a Sigur Rós cover.

natalie portman could cover the pogues. she'd have to lose a few teeth first though.

that's fair enough, but it's not fair or logical to base your opinion of her album on your opinion of a crappy internet review.
