lol, I feel weird having an mpc1000 and nord modular because AE has them... I didn't know that when I got them. I don't want to be some copy and paste fanboy or whatever. But my music sounds more like Milli Vanilli than AE so I'm safe.

I do really want a bitstream controller however.

well, I have both a monomachine, machinedrum, and will be getting a nord modular. But considering how versatile those pieces of equipment are, it definitely isn't a poser type thing.

The other night in Boston this is exactly what was being used, I had access to view them in action from the side of the stage, couldn't tell wat the MPC was until the lights came on.

some guy kept taking pictures with a flash, was aggravating me, so i grabbed his arm and he was all WHAT (yelling due to club loudness) and i was like I'M TIRED OF YOUR FLASHING YOUNG MAN i'm not sure if he heard me but he went somewhere else after that.

No dude, I was on the side of the stage, I took that photo w/ my phone as someone was flashing the stage w/ their camera...probably the dude you're referring to.

can anyone point me in the direction of what gear they were using back when they released Incunabula (mainly the synths)

A Roland TR-606 and Juno-106 would get you started in a big way with Incunabula. Those are such popular pieces of old kit that you can actually own them without cutting off a testicle in return. Try eBay, craigslist, or anywhere else. My 606 cost me $200 with shipping and I actually got ripped off if you look at what some people are able to get one for. You should be able to get a good one more like $150
