I don't understand how some people go about songwriting(lyrics mostly)

 

I mean who doesn't want to turn off a song when the first words you hear are "this is the first day of my life"

 

Maybe that's a little harsh... hmmm... it's like hearing someone play "smells like teen spirit" when they pick up a guitar, just corny and overdone
