The Warehouse guys normally just pat down for hefty stuff like bottles and weapons yeah.

Also they do have sniffers every now and again depending on the night in question.

Never seen anyone busted myself though

A bit popped out when we first saw the sniffer but we decided to go for it anyway, the dog was the most docile cuddly looking mut I'd ever seen and I almost patted him on the head as I went past! Considering I'd had my fingers all over my stash 20mins before this was no sniffer dog in fact we all though it was more for show and no doubt a pet of the rozzer who was holding him tho apparently I'm told dogs can't smell pills but don't take that literally.

The one thing that concerns me the most is its at the same venue as last year which was pretty heavy on falling brickdust last time I went and isn't something I want to be thinking about when 'on one' so to speak.

Don't let that spoil your fun tho

why are all the good shows in europe, particularly England and Ireland. FUCKIN A! I gotta find a way I can study abroad, cause it's really been my dream in life to go to England, have a nice porter, a spliff, and watch AFX, Vibert, ceephax or Squarepusher. And just rock out. Im so jealous!

I did get to see Ae in boston earlier this year and that was mental.

Yeah, that was a bit of a giggle.

Just bought a pair of tickets to Beardyman, Flying Lotus, Benga, Capsa/Rusko and that bint Mary Ann Hobbs.

Should be a stonker though

Thats the next choice methinks tho the event does bleed you dry.

Got my tickets, this is slowly shaping up to be a super shindig

Mark Broom and the Computer Controlled team are now on board, and apparently Greg Lord will be playing some music for the ladies too

who's Mark Broom?

Autechre had him playing on their 2005 tour along with Rob Hall. He also played at Glade this year. He's ace :)

It's too orangey for crows!!!

safe, i'll have a listen later.

I got thrown out of Ape:Beatdown the other week due to being pissed and lairy, and apparently over zealous security there isn't common though i haven't seen it before myself.

Be on your best behaviour WATMMers!

Should be good. I'll be there! I wonder if the old crowd pushing thing will happen like when Aphex DJ'd there last year. All those sweaty bodies pushing and shoving each other, out of their minds...

Judging by the reports from London I think this may be the case! :)

It's too orangey for crows!!!

Musically and technically stunning, the set was an intense 2hrs but seemed to fly by and best of all ole Tom himself was really buzzing from the crowd.

The bar was certainly raised last night. :squarepusher::ok:

I think i can speak for Stripeyhat on this one, the new stuff really alienated alot of people (or at least those that weren't completely munted perhaps)

Fair play to the guy and his 'vision', i haven't heard the new album but i don't think the prog metal stuff projected well, at least not in that venue.

If you were down the front your accounts my differ from mine, but at the back it sounded like speedcore with Tom playing a million and one seemingly random scales over the top. Not a joy to listen to.

The unreleased stuff sounded top dog though, i expect the new EP will have some of the acid we heard on it, and the old stuff sounded better than ever through the huge rig (Journey Reedham brought a tear to my eye  )

Vibert was in party mode as ever, and LFO was an hour of quality harsh synth abuse, all in all a top night.

Forget to mention LFO who was very heavy but a perfect follow on from Tom.

Wasn't so keen on Mr Vibert as whenever I see him it seems he's always playing old skool tracks which for me is getting a bit long in the tooth, a novelty for young un's in the backdrop of an old warehouse but I got the t-shirt many years ago. .

Yep.

I think the whole night was a bit of a weird one for me to be honest. I drank far too much and just felt like I never got into any of it. I can't even remember if I watched LFO or not. Gutted :( I'm such an eejit.

Yeh Vibert was his usual so-so at the start but got better with the amen andrews stuff....

Missed a lot of LFO but my mate said it was amazing.... nice n heavy and lots of girls dancing....

Squarepusher..

Well first off.... he didn't play "pontinus". Its was the same exact set as Berlin. He was unbelieveable on the bass giving us loads of variations of the melodies. He broke up angstrom-feck 4 even more than ever... really plucking away at the tune with tons of breaks. His thrash metal stuff went down brilliantly at the front and my italian raver mate Guliamo and me was headbanging like crazy. The "whitehhouse" tracjk was great... Tom loved that one himself, grinning ear to ear!

It was very packed down there but we made room and loved it. Toms' interaction with the crowd was as cheezy as ever.... all thumbs up and "lets go" heand waving! Woulda liked a bit of shouting though! It was great to see his musicnianship up close. The drummer was great too.... again worth being in their faces for this one.

I cought 80% of it on audio so will upload it tomorrow.... its pretty much like the Berlin set though.

Thought Squarepusher's set was hard to distinguish sounds and he had the ability to interact with the crowd like someone who works at Pontin's. If I'm honest, I'm not all that keen on all the prog rock slap bass stuff. I don't know what it was with the sound that night but it just didn't work, I dunno if it was problems with the mixing or being at high volume. Bit of a shame really. He had good charisma though.

Mark Bell got his head down and carried on that way until the end. His set was clean cut and each sound clearly defined. He played only LFO stuff and I think that was a wise decision, really good mix although some of the high pitched detuned melodies (bird tweet stuff) started to grate against my ears. But no real complaints from me, for me LFO was the highlight of the night. Good old Vibert came up the goods once again mixing in some really good and varied retro stuff. Dare I say it, I thought his set was better in some ways compared to Aphex last year. Was hilarious seeing folk stoned out of their faces. I expected more crowd pushing going on like last year. Some tosser thought it was a good idea to spray Budweiser in the air, I appreciated that on my HD camera thanks. I recorded 99% of LFO's set and video'd a large majority of the night. Will upload some stuff soon.

Oh yeh..... I bought a t-shirt which is a lot crapper than the one I made. Same font/logo but mine has the neon light shit going on..... the offical ones just yellow. Gonna see if I can get these up for sale!

That's not the sound recording that's crushed. That's how it actually sounded! Just couldn't get on with Squarepusher's set.
