If you sign up you get 7 days (or 168 hours) to produce an EP, which will then be uploaded to the official from where people can stream and download your music and of course comment on your EP.

As far as I remember Project168 was actually once mentioned in a music magazine.

 

The fact that you only get 7 days to do the EP might sound stressing but I really love working with a time limit hovering over my head. It forces you to be creative.

the time limit is surprisingly helpful for most (myself included) as you MUST have a 'completed' (as much as anything can be anyway) EP by the end.

by contrast, i have about 2 unfinished LPs in the works because i never have the full impetus to finish them.

in reference to the continuing concerns about g.i.'s feelings on the matter, i'm more than happy to put some text right on the front page extolling his legacy, and if he indeed is miffed that we've proceeded without him, i'm happy to give him whatever code and / or music have been done at this point to put on the original site.

i started moving forward on this because everyone enjoyed doing it and it has stagnated for over a year. the spirit of the originals was just motivation and solidarity in making tunes. that's what this one is supposed to be about.

in koh phan Ngan, recovering after a full moon party. it's crazy here.

Right I'm flying home next weekend. It's great to see so many people are still up for this. I think it's about time for v.4 I was planning on doing one before christmas. I've learnt SQL and all sorts now so there's be proper guestbooks and rating sytems. Sure it's more of a wattm thing than a giraffe thing. Let me get my head together and will discuss next week
