the anti-reverb thing, i feel the need to bring it up

I think the original point would have been that reverb can become one of those easy options like looping samples over and over or quantizing every beat. The machine or computer gives you instant gratification but ultimately there's not much creativity involved.

 

Good use of reverb however, serves a purpose to the mix and song and isn't simply a forgone conclusion.

So what have we all learned?

 

Reverb is good when it is good, and reverb is bad when it is bad.

it tells us that reverb just like any other standard

audio effect can be abused, used with taste, used poorly, used in a really cheesy way, made to sound beautiful, and all of the above

agreed, because that album's use of reverb is horribly cheesy

however on SAW 2 he really improved his techniques and made some awesome dirty reverbs
