bleep bought

version sounds shit and go up and down in volume as if it's been ripped from a bleep player?

it's pretending it's 320kps

i know there's an instance of that in The Coat Hanger, but it's an effect he's using. part of the song. i didn't really hear it that much though. it was tricking me while i was listening on bleep, thinking i was going to have to click it back on ;)

"Planet Gear" would be an awesome track had he let someone else produce it.

i agree, he needs a partner to help him engineer and mix his stuff.

don't let squarepusher know you said that, or he might get midevil on ur ass.

good grief ... (just listened to at bleep) ... i'm not paying money for something i won't ever listen to ... sounds like he's uploaded another unpolished 'noodle folder' to warp for pressing .. heh ... this is indeed dire .. what tha fuck happened to the man ... what happened .. i don't understand .. he used to seem to have some sort of understanding of cool ... you know i could forgive his annoying forays into wanky artnoise adventures cause he's always come back and like .. be cool .. hah ... .. i mean heh ... i mean -sie- ..

and no i'm not buying it just for the artbook ..

you know .. as i was going through listening to each track .. at about halfway through i started thinking .. 'well i could always just buy the individual tracks that i like .. i don't have to go ahead and get the whole thing ,, but then there weren't any ... not a one ..

;-/..

a man who can do anything ripping off a band that can do 1 thing. the whole world's gone topsy turvy.

i'm pretty sure that the shit production was an artistic choice

wait who lightning bolt?

and ill insert some seriousness here, i think squarepusher has always been kind of a completist. As far as i know unless he's overlty collaborating with someone like his brother, he seems to do 100% of the production, engineering, recording on the majority of his work. Is this the case or am i off base on this? If so i could understand why he'd want to do a very live sounding album without getting a professional studio engineer to work with. For better or for worse t makes the album more characteristic Squarepusher.

Or to give him the ultra benefit of the doubt maybe he was directly trying to imitate the production style of early UK punk like the sound on CRASS albums

''For instance, one of the musicians appeared to be using a device attached to the body of his classical guitar that allowed him to accelerate or decelerate time in his immediate vicinity.

At a certain point he seemed to quickly reverse back to a couple of months ago. . Sonically, this had the effect of extruding certain melodic phrases into shimmering monoliths and slow emotion wave fronts. Other sounds being generated near to him on stage also got partially sucked into the time sponge and were returned at high speed as imploded sonic pin cushions.

The coat hanger started glowing emerald green..."

does anyone else think this is something ulillilia would say if he were into music not games.

I'd far sooner listen to Crass though. Crass are/were amazing!

its a cool album, i like it. fun songs. 'planet gear' is the standout for me. squarepusher in 100% pure rock mode.

after a few listens, i'd say it's better than hello everything. my fave pusher is still music is rotted though

that's a compliment that makes me feel pretty sad. lol. I'm not as clever as a lot of people on here. That's why my comments are pretty poor most the time.

However a lot of people here do just seem like assholes despite how clever they seem. not naming anyone though.
