i was always shit at eq, i still don't understand compression, and tapes just sound noisy to me.

I have kinda given up on hardware right now

I realized that I'd need to buy a ton of hardware to get to where I am with software

so I said fuck it

I feel like I keep making the same song over and over again.

Why am I alive?

I bought a midi keyboard about 4 years ago and wrote one (~20 min) track with it. Everything else I've done in Renoise and using the standard qwerty keyboard. SAD.

I hate playing in MIDI. I only use the pencil tool.

i have around 700 files and only 30 or so full songs

i've never actually finished a song to the point of completion

ive been writing music since i was 15 and i still kind of suck at it

ive always sucked at beats

I sent sent demos to Rephlex and thought they might listen to them.

I just use the matrix in reason, click random, change the notes a bit and then click a few random drum pads from a default patch I've never ever used hardware I don't really understand compression, EQ, normailzing really either

I suffer from '4 bar loop' syndrome big time. :(

My main synth that i love and use for everything is half broken and needs about 20 minutes to warm up before all the keys work.

ive been making music for 8 years and ive never sent out a demo or released any music

i only use my MIDI controller to press the keys, all the actual knob twiddling i do with the mouse on the software. consequently, the dials on my remote 25 are all dusty.

considering the reaction your tunes get on here you might well want to consider it though dude.

i work exclusively with patterns and mute buttons and only use about a quarter of the features on all of my equipment because i can't be arsed to figure the rest out.

I use ms word to write tunes.

I make boring trip-hop/chill-out music and it's the best thing in my life... And yeah, not just boring, also shitty and unimaginative.

I nearly always use an ancient mc303 in my tunes, and even though I've had it for about 10 years I still can't figure it out properly. :confused:
