Street Fighter IV

tried it a few months back but i couldt do any fucking moves on the joystick for ryu he just jumps int he fucking air

is it online or something it seemed like it was matching me up with someone online

it does look alright if you have 1000dollars to shovel into the machine

addicting annoys me.

Came out today, will pick it up later tonight.

Anyone know a controller for 360 with a good dpad?

I have always avoided video games for most of my adult life, but I always loved Street Fighter II. I don't have any gaming system but I am considering buying one to play SF IV. I am in the U.S. What do you recommend as a good system to play this on? Thanks for the advice noble video game/autechre warriors.

I fucking loved SFII 3rd Strike and the Alpha series. Can't wait to get my hands on the new one, it looks awesome, and apparently it plays the best so far.

It's a stand-alone full 60$ game. It's not on XBL. I'd recommend it on PS3 because the dpad is alot better.

The first thing you'll want to figure out is what console your friends have. If most of them are on an Xbox then that might be the system you want. The 360 is something like 100 bucks cheaper, but you'll have to pay to play online. So many pros and cons to each system.

I suggest you get a 360 if you just want to play Street Fighter. If you want to play more games then you'll need to look closer at the exclusive catalogs for each system. The PS3 has Bluray so if you have a big ass HDTV and care about that stuff then you might want to reconsider.

Don't forget to pick up a good arcade stick like a HORI Real Arcade stick or something.

They do have official SF4 fight pads for 360/PS3... but you'll want a joystick.

No it's not - sure, you can use the analogue stick, but it's too loose to do quarter circle turns accurately. Joystick all the way.

Yes, get a joystick. This game cannot be enjoyed as much without one.

If you think MM9 sucks, then I'd reconsider getting SF4. 2D fighting games need the same skills to play as MM games, hell, even moreso. Extremely fast reflexes, and complex buttons combinations. MM9 just needs the former, and you bitched to hell that it was too hard (which it's not). I'd say you should just rent the game first, play it for several days and see if you can get into it.

Found this pup, prob going to order one online and just make-do with the 360 controller til then. Never been a fan of the arcade stick; owned with ps2's controller on capcom vs snk.

edit: and I can have ken's glaring ambiguous smirk staring back at me mid smackdown

i ordered a controller that looked like that except it's the version with just ken's erect, muscular penis in a gi instead of ken in a gi

I considered those, but I'm too much of a joystick purist (most of my home consoles up until the PS3 have always had a joystick of some sort in my arsenal), even with non-fighting games like Megaman 9 or Bionic Commando: ReArmed.

I'm gonna pick up one of these (for now) with a 50.00 Amazon Gift Card I have:

At 50USD, it's the cheapest joystick (price-wise) you can get.
