Yeah I don't know, I always think to myself about whether or not any of his new tracks have something in them that someone experienced with VSTs/hardware couldn't do... It's hard to say, I think he may still code things that can add certain effects to his sound, but overall I think it's mostly just hardware/software.

I don't even fully believe the stuff he says about analog equipment, while obviously he uses it and it definitely has a unique sound incomparable to most software synths, I think he definitely does things on computers these days more than most people would believe.

Especially if you make a ton of tracks, it'd be a lot harder to save and organize all the MIDI stuff on hardware than on a computer.

I know Mr James has been caught out on the Planet Mu forum and suspected on some synth mailing lists but I've been on some other forums where members have often suspected it's been the man himself on a blagg mish.

I read the same forums as him and I also have read aphexs interviews many times so Im able to find the ppatterns in his speech. I have a high IQ so I am good at pattern recognition. Contrary to what aphex thinks. I have a life.

There was a character on the supercollider forum back many years ago that was a stark raving lunatic. It was a girl that wrote in some invented language and she wrote the code that become JItter for max/msp. I think they stole the code from her. She never broke out of her strange invented language. Maybe Rich remembers her name. I can't. Rich was alaways raving about the program cdp made in Bath england on the SC forum. I never got around to checking the software out.

I think aphex doesn't like his fans too much because they define him to him, maybe? He seems very controlling of his image and his fans reflect him and maybe he doesn't like what he sees.

I've heard someone say pretty much the same thing, if you know his writing style then eyebrows are raised even when he is often just talking to himself.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised if he occasionally blaggs somewhere on here or even some other forums as he confessed that he was a bit of an internet junkie in that MTV interview years ago but judging by the large amount of fanboy tripe that gets posted here I'd hope he'd only bother if it was worth posting or something very amusing.

I also suspect that there are some on here that know a little more than they let on but who cares?

If he does and I am sure he has done. The forum would be best visited in a certain state of mind, then he would make some mischief and then leave. Not returning or bothering with it unless he feels like it.

Out of the big four (Ae, BoC, SP, AFX) he defo seems the most likely to come here to have a laugh.

It must be nice to just have a conversation with (sort of lol) normal people, and not everybody getting on their knees and going 'We are not worthy! we are not worthy!'. Which is what I would do, heheh.
