Back on subject...

The first book is good (Twilight). It hits every possible button to appeal to teenage girls, and because it's clean, the parents are down with it too. The others (New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn) are pretty meh, but by then you're invested enough in the characters to want to see what happens.

I've read them all, and I'm okay with that. We had a release party for Breaking Dawn this summer and had 250 people in a dinky mall bookstore at midnight. It was crazy.

Yes, the author is Mormon. Yes, the movie is going to be horrible. But with five books (one for adults) under her belt and at least four more in various stages of development, Stephenie Meyer is not going away.

Over the last 12 months, we have sold at least 1700 copies of Twilight.

I was listening to NPR on the way to school today and the reporter said he felt like a 16 year old girl again when he saw the movie.

At least that's what I remember, though I'm a little "out of it" in the mornings.
