if you haven't seen it yet, definitely check out that movie. i liked it a LOT more than primer, and can't wait to see what they do with the concept

can you point me in the proper direction to see this movie? cant seem to find it anywhere.

i only saw a history of violence and eastern promises. history was whack, but eastern promises was pretty good. even though i saw the "twist" i guess coming the whole time, and it was basically the reverse of a history of violence (in one the twist is he is actually bad, in the other, HE'S ACTUALLY GOOD! :omg: )

just finished it and i agree it was very good, however i disagree that it was better than primer. this was more entertaining and exciting, but it didn't really grab me and force me to think about it like primer did as it was much more straight forward.

no love for m butterfly wtf?? how about crash? ballard?

I always forget about Crash - I saw it in the theatre when it came out & never since.. should rent it! I love Ballard - he's one of my favourite authors ever. Sucks that his books take forever to be printed in the US (if ever). I know he published a new book in 08 but I've never seen it :(

well, that's the whole paradoxical nature of time travel, eh? it started at the beginning, and everything happened at once. interesting because there are two types of time travel movies, this one being a single timeline, or a 'static timeline', whereas a movie like primer has multiple timelines, also known as a 'fluid timeline' (apparently)

you are so right about this. the only ballard we can get through distributors (3!) is best of short stories and empire of the sun. and then take a stroll over to amazon.co.uk and lo 50,000 editions of every title. ballard needs some serious U.S. distribution. actually super-cannes would make a good film..

It's actually a bookstore about 2 minutes from where I live. They've had a website since before Amazon as well.

Between Powells and the half dozen or so smaller specialty bookstores in Portland, there probably isn't a written work you can't get your hands in this city.

we have 3 bookstores in the whole city -- two chains and one bogus used store. i'd fancy tra-la-laing around portland looking for good books.

with all those mom and pop stores around there, if you find james craddock's be not content for under 30 bucks i would consider it an investment!

Guest Ultravisitor

last film i watched by cronenberg was crash....yikes! that was odd. clever, but odd.

gonna have to look into scanners, that exploding head looks horrific (in a good way)

and i still haven't seen the entirety of the fly.

may have to check out videodrome too.

cheers for the recommendations everyone. always up for watching new films!
