i read an interesting article about how Clint Eastwood originally intended this to be a story about troubled black youth and not asian , but possibly his public battle with Spike Lee over the supposed racism in Flags of our fathers effected him a lot.

I just wonder when someone will open their eyes and realise he should be put in a home.

clint eastwood is the man he shits turds like Chuck Norris and Vin Diesel twice a day unless he has painful hemorroids, and none of you have the right to even dare say he should be put anywhere.

Clint Eastwood would have single handedly won the Vietnam War for America. All they would have to do is set him in the middle of the jungle and let him rock out that stone cold gaze...the trees would fucking wilt and the Vietcong would run for their lives.

i thought it was brilliant.

on one hand you had the dirty harry style one-liners , delivered with totally unconvincing cynism by a 83-year old.. and on the other hand you have the moralizing clash-of-cultures shite that eastwood has been doing alot lately, full of painful cliches and awkward feel-good moments. a surreal combination.

btw did anyone catch the dirty harry 2 reference? a quick shot, more of a glimpse really, of clint aiming his magnum with stretched arm, standing in his trademark crooked stance, filmed from below.. so short it was almost subliminal

I can only hope that's me in 50 years.
