The hmong actors were pretty lifeless, I dunno if that was a directorial decision but if it was, it was not a good one. I understand the desire to show "real" people, but man...

Anyways, downloaded, watched, deleted.

I mean, goddamn if Clint Eastwood isn't the last great classic actor alive...that man can be dramatic, pissed off, remorseful, and hilarious with one fucking look.

it might sound really stupid, and the acting wasn;t perfect, but there are so many older people Ive met through my life that talk exactly like that...they bust balls by calling people racist shit...their generation never experienced political correctness i spose...

the thing that really bugged me about the movie was the hmong actors/actresses. at least the boy and his cousin were terrible.

otherwise i fully enjoyed this movie.

all the racism lols/poor acting aside, i really liked the redemption in eastwood's character and the overall story. just had to mention that

weird, i thought that was the least convincing, most irritating aspect of the movie. if it had just stayed with him being a grumpy old bastard and then eventually going apeshit crazy, it would have been perfect.

wouldn't that just turn the whole movie into a thoughtless, racist exploitation flick? that being said, if that were the case i would have still really loved the movie for different reasons.

This was the most spectacularly fucking bizarre movie I've maybe ever seen.

It was like Warner Brothers sponsored a Movie Making & Acting Camp for Asians in the middle of Michigan, gave Clint Eastwood $2 million to run it, then hired the camp janitor to write a script, then filmed the script written by the janitor over the course of 10 days, then took another 2 days to edit the material, then had Eastwood sing a little song to roll out the credits, then watched asinine western movie critics go apeshit over it.

Seriously, what a bizzare fucking movie...I still can't believe how weird it was...

i can't believe it exists either, but i still found it hilarious. partly because i can't believe it exists. until the moralizing crept in near the end i thought i was witnessing clint eastwood's descent into senile madness on the big screen. although it still could have been with that ending. either way it was lol.

Oh, it was magnificently lol...and you're right, that's exactly what I said to my girlfriend about 3/4 through it: "Are we like, seeing the filmic evidence of Eastwood's collapse into umm dementia or Alzheimer's?

eastwood singing at the end was the funniest part of the movie for me. i was definitely lol/wtf.

this film is sort of like a movie version of me and essines calling each other faggot

eh, this was pretty great. everything you want in a movie. beats the shit out of "there will be blood".
