oh for fuck's sake....why the fuck can't anyone get it into their head that people might want to actually buy a piece of equipment they don't have to fucking well BUILD first? fuck it, basically the only thing you can like buy, get home, plug in and actually use is the Doepfer MAQ 16/3. best get saving then.

I'm not that bothered - just want a simple analogue style sequencer with realtime controls for each note....not that much to ask surely? why does nobody make them any more??? or hardware sequencers generally? I'd also love a FutureRetro Mobius but they don't make them any more either! fuck's sake man, DAWs have killed music and I hate them :(

i was just offered a Mobius for 400eur... but it's a single-track, monophonic sequencer! not really worth it.

did you like what you saw about mbSeq?

mobius's are fucking wicked IMO - I like monophonic! I did like the features and stuff on the midibox seq yeah, looks really good in fact. just wish they sold them ready made....

yeah maybe, but it all adds to the cost innit. plus I want to buy it and use it, not buy it, give it to someone else, wait a couple of weeks then use it.....

sorry didn't mean to sound arsey :) I am just frustrated that you can't buy a new hardware sequencer these days unless you want a QY70 which I already have. the only other option is to use a Korg Electribe or a Roland Grooovebox, but fuck that.

I have researched this thoroughly - if you want a brand new hardware sequencer that is simply a sequencer and nothing else, then you've got very little choice indeed. if you want an analogue style one (that you can actually use when you get it home) then there is the Doepfer MAQ 16/3 or the Analogue Solutions Oberkorn. unfortunately, the Oberkorn only has MIDI out so cannot sync to MIDI clock from my multitrack, so is no good.

the only thing out there that does what I want is the Doepfer.

I think the Monomachine's MIDI sequencer tracks (although slightly glitchy with some functions) is the most fluid and most powerful hardware sequencer made unless you want some more exotic playback functions which is where the P3 is king.
