Imagine if autehcre ever tried producing hip hop with the style they remix this shit? Rob and Sean would have been doing what prefuse and any other so called experimental hip hop producer was doing, except better, and way earlier. O well... they decided to be innovative in an other way I guess.

Thanks for reminding me to listen to this, it's been ages and I didn't appreciate it as much the last time I listened. Standouts for me are parts 1.3, 3.3, and 3.4, with 3.3 being the best of the lot I think.

So are there any other mixes like this that people here know of? Aside from DJ Yoda's Essential Mix from 2003, this is probably the most technically impressive hip hop mix I have ever heard. I love the super extended edits that capture the spirit of the late 80s hip hop scene.

agreed. i love the way he mangles with missy elliott at the end. fucking ace.

i think you should check some older DJ Krush live sets (specially from Sonar festival) if you want proper turntablism.

DJ Krush is the fuckin man. Jaku in particular is an absolute motherfucker of an album.

He's not too flash on the decks but easily my favourite psychedelic Hip-Hop producer. His shit is dark; has a very unsettling atmosphere. Far more consistent than Shadow as well, who is the only guy who did anything that came near what Krush does.
