@ PO - again, yeah, it probably would make a much more cerebral and interesting film than what appears to be a CGI fluff-fest. . . ffs they even brought back the fucked up bunny mask? Christ, it's like Coldplay making a sequel to OK Computer

LOL exactly. I just don't see the point in it if they are just going to put Samantha through the same exact events. Nothing new is gained.

i've never seen cube one.

Cube 1 is worth a look in, if only for the opening death. So-bad-it's-good kind of territory... the same territory The Hole was aiming for but missed badly.

I really liked the first one, but this looks like fucking garbage.

Sit on the fence, whydontcha. But yeh, my thoughts precisely.

@ P.O. - yeah, that would have made an interesting movie. Although w/out Kelly involved I kind of expect any Darko spinoff to be absolutely horrid.

Yeah, that was my reasoning for picking that part. It would only have loose ties to the original so if you had a different team working on it, they could have more room to make it their own. I picture a psychological/supernatural gothic horror type story set in the 50s or whenever she was a teacher and first discovering the ideas/concepts.

That idea I like much better than this rehash piece of shit that appears to be coming out.

Holy crap, I just watched the first 15 minutes of S. Darko. Daveigh Chase (the girl playing Samantha) is actually shockingly hot, but omg, those have got to be some of the worse 15 minutes I've spent on a movie. I must say that I was surprised that the movie started out with The Chemical Brothers' "Alive Alone" from Exit Planet Dust, but it all went downhill from there. I THINK I might watch the rest of it tomorrow...

how could they possibly make a sequel to this film? what a way to ruin the memory of a great film.

there's plans to make a sequel to blade runner, which is x10000000 worse

please tell me you are kidding... please...

Ridley Scott himself talked about making a sequel back in 2007 at the Comic Con, because he thought that there were some interesting things about Deckard's backstory and some ideas about immortality.

What's worse is that McG not long ago mentioned that it would be interesting to make a remake of Blade Runner.

a large chunk of my being just died.

So you down to about 230 now? congrats

I bet your cranky because writing music in 11/11 is pretty difficult.

yes this movie was shit. absolutely no plot to speak of, but thinks ripping off plot elements of 1st film is a great idea (to the point of actually using clips from donnie darko as some kind of legitamizing concept) just wait for Kelly's next movie if you need a fix, The Box, which is a retelling of this Twilight Zone episode:

I have no idea how he's going retell The Box? It's a classic story so how is the ending going to surprise people?

According to Bloody-Disgusting, the studio has already greenlit a third installment and is currently in development on it. The site added that director Richard Kelly might be involved with the film in some capacity.

The original film, directed by Kelly, was a breakthrough hit for actor Jake Gyllenhaal. During its theatrical run, it received a very limited release. And while the movie brought it only $1 million domestically, it attracted a huge cult following on DVD.
