nah, maybe they're not popular in the UK, but look at how many people buy priuses (prii) in the US. most of them could afford a far more expensive car (young professionals, academics, etc.) but they but the prius for eco-cred. i think this thing would be a steady seller at $50k, and it could really take off in areas llike california where they have the population density to make charging stations financially feasible.
