i think that would work because it's nicely self-deprecating. so stupid dance music producers can go "is you saying are dance music is relivent and you'res isn't?! well, good."

i knew someone that only listened to music from star trek.ONLY star trek shows and movies, absolutely nothing else. he has a lot of issues

But yeah, I also knew some people that only listened to anime soundtracks/j-pop where they didn't even know what they were saying, just that they 'liked the sound of it'. I guess it's better than not listening to anything at all (I know a few people where music has no involvement in their lives and never will), but not by much. I definitely encountered plenty of freaks/super-nerds back in college hahah

its not really worth talking to the majority of people about music unless you know there is going to be some common ground

I know most people you talk to about IDM are not going to be open minded, I just mean when explaining it to someone who is going to be open minded.

its crazy because I've never really been able to show someone any of my music and have them enjoy it. I recently became friends with this girl who is super into electronic music, and I showed her Ae. She said 'yeah thats pretty cool' but I figured it was just a passive agreeance.

We were bussing home from a show sharing my ipod earbuds and she surprised me by asking to play some Autechre. After I finished completely ejaculating in my pants, I played montreal and further.

More and more people that I show them to lately are actually seriously digging it.
