trent looks old and overweight

He's kicked whatever habits he had... so I imagine it's a combination of withdrawal, replacing those habits with others, and his body getting rid of it's toxins

by the looks of him he appears to have interesting views on twinkies too

"body getting rid of its toxins"?? I hope you don't believe that hippy crap. The body doesn't "get rid of toxins." And you can't get them out of your tissue by drinking magic tea or doing yoga in a heated room etc. Man the whole idea of toxins as these nasty impurities that can be sweated out or moved from place to place is so medieval, like the four humors...

personally i think his slightly rough look is due to a combo of geeking out in front of the computer for long stretches, past substance abuse, and particularly steroid abuse: he has the raw meat face and tired eyes you see on wrestlers...

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

- lost cloud

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

-organized confused project

fxck.

I swear every time I hear him speak in an interview nowadays, he sounds like he's taking a big ol' bite out of a burger. Then he'll clear his throat like the bite was too big, but then it's all good and he swallows without making a sound.

I find this odd coming from someone who lives in China, considering they tend to understand homeopathy and how the body works better than most Western medicine. Of course your body leeches out toxins via your skin, sweat, urine, etc. - how do you think your body cleanses itself when you're sick? You produce mucous, sweat, run a fever to try and kill whatever is ailing you, vomit, diarrhea, etc.

I agree about the steroid use though - you can see how greasy looking his skin is, and how thick his facial features have become due to 'roid use. Had it ever been addressed anywhere online about his roid use?

He's also had bad allergies most of his life, so that might be another reason. He's what, 44 now?

i am hot shit ... that smells like baking bread.

He looks incredibly awkward to interview.. as if he'll bite your head off if you ask the wrong question or easily takes offense at certain things asked.

Good detailed interview though, I admire Trent as a musician but I don't like the direction he headed into after Ghosts.

not sure if it's simply roid use, lots of huge white jock like teenagers around the sububrs i grew up in who talked in ebonics would 'pump themselves' up with tons of legal GNC style supplements not technically steroids and in the end they would look like a combination of fat and buff

too bad this was such a broad geek culture interview, it would be nice to see what electronic music he listens to these days after all back in 1994 he was telling people to check out Coil and Aphex Twin in his interviews

edit: also like his critique on modern videogames 'they all play the same, the next one looks better but its the same game'

Also, when you're taking tons of supplements and working out everyday, once you stop, gravity takes it's course, moreso with age. He doesn't necessarily have to be on roids but when you have an extremely rigid regiment and then stop all that muscle mass becomes bulk.

his advice to musicians who are just starting out and trying to 'make it' couldn't be further from reality. Sure NIN exists in a bubble where he can give music away and still make cash off of concerts + 'deluxe collectors items' but that's not how it exists for the majority of others - due to the fact he's only mainly successful today due to the marketing from ancient record companies that he 'hates' yet owes a ton of his success due to them and with the right time/place years ago. the interview was very cold while he broke down how he shamelessly manipulates his diehard fans for cash. he's a VERY smart businessman like Gene Simmons, trying to extract as much money as possible (we're now living in post-record industry society) from hardcore fans that will buy anything/everything NIN

streaming music and live concerts you'll pay for and watch online are definitely the future for megastar bands. live concerts and free music and special physical items (t-shirts, dvds, vinyl, etc) are the future for everyone else. it is now impossible to earn a living directly from music unless you pass a certain threshold, which you actually have better chances at winning the lottery (ESPECIALLY with certain kinds of music, anything too far away from mainstream, or indie/alt masquerading as mainstream) . a lot of people still don't understand this

i'm really glad he was asked about scientology as well, i know a scientologist who regularly wears a NIN shirt and it pisses me off more than you can believe. hes really ignorant about how he 'doesnt see a problem' yet he's uninformed and thinks scientology is like any other religion, but thats too long of a tangent

He gives you his record for free. If you would like it in a cool special package with other goodies, here's the price. You want it, that's what it is. That's manipulating? He made a ton off the ghost vinyl, it was expensive but...

http://ghosts.nin.com/main/order_options

...it's all laid out there perfectly, no trickery. He wants to make money just like everyone else. For the diehard fans they see value in the 300$ package, other casual fans just dl or spend the 10$. And he's ok with whatever choice you make.

Are you trolling? You must be trolling.

Also, the last time Trent made good music was when he was a worthless druggie. He should go back on the needle so he stops making shitty music.

If only I could have a quid for everytime I've heard that
