Damn. Image overload. So much I haven't seen. Love that Francis Bacon is represented. Here are a few more.

Mark Rothko

Jackson Pollock

Anselm Kiefer

William Turner

Titian (should have been the fifth ninja turtle)

Mondrian

Brice Marden

In no logical order. Some sidenotes: Of course there is no comparison to seeing these in real life. Rothko, Pollock and Kiefer all translate very poorly. These are all HUGE. William Turner is a great way to transition from impressionism to expressionism. Mondrian is better appreciated if you look at the progression thru his life's work. From tree studies to "Broadway Boogie Woogie". It all makes perfect sense. Love Marden. By the way, thanks for turning me on to Beksinski, Kentridge, Varini, and Rauschenberg (not as familiar with). I could go on all day.

I've never liked rothko. Are the paintings very large or something? Because, that probably would make them better.

Yeah, they are big enough to encompass your visual field. On top of that, they really glow. It was like a religious experience.

In no way does this picture do it justice.

Plus, I would love to see his chapel.
