I'm going to try but that deadline is tight. I have some ideas though so its just whether i get time and those ideas can be put down on sound.

if I don't submit one then I'd like to offer my services as a judge. If i do submit then i won't.

you have more than a month and a half to do one track, lol. p168 is pretty nuts though, one week for several tracks?? I can't Imagine.

depends how you work i suppose. i'm pretty slow these days. i like to leave things alone then return to them with fresh ears. so i'll work on lots of stuff at the same time and work on whatever inspires that day. otherwise i'll be forcing myself and it'll feel forced plus i wont enjoy.

i was going to do this track solely on my new electribe sx but i realised yesterday that would be foolish

that's the thing, i've seen threads about this for the past few months or so. but i've never had interest in reading them... that's why i'm not in the know if this ulillillia thing! i did have a dream once a few weeks ago about selling ulillillia tshirts!

he some autistic fag who eats devil dogs and cheese nips in his bedroom, who's afraid of water, never been laid fat fuck, like 75 % of the twats on here.

edit for 4 e's in cheese.

my track is going to be awesome and very antarctic.. got a good arrangement going on but i need to focus on p168 for now

i'm curious about the recommended track length and whether or not ambient is going to be ruled out in favor for beat oriented tracks?

it's recommended to err on the concise side for track length. in the past we've had to boot a killer 8 min song to make room for two good songs. that being said if it's an absolutely mind blowing 32 min track then it will not be ruled out either.

i can tell you that beat oriented tracks tend to have more weight. no doubt there will be one or two quality ambient tracks on the comp (for example, ryan's track on the DSC comp) but the competition for an ambient slot will be tougher as the overall comp will need to be more beat driven. but if you suck at making beats then you have a better shot coming up with an awesome atmospheric track, because shitty beats stand out more.

of course these are guidelines, we could wind up getting 10 or 12 amazing ambient tracks (would be nice to get one from ourson) and end up with an all ambient album... but just based on experience a good beat driven track is going to attract more attention than a good ambient track.

i might make a track for this. i can't promise anything though since i'm a lazy bastard.

yeah ambient stuff seems a bit easy and not very imaginative, something with beats and weird noises could be cool. we'll see

This is actually proving trickier than I first thought, I've been stuck for the last week or so trying to finish like the last 5% of the track.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.
