Project 168 In Progress!

A big thank-you to G I Raffe for wrestling the Project 168 web site into submission and organising the whole thing!

I missed all the other ones so I'm chuffed that I'm in the right place for this one.

Its quite amazing to think there are over 100 of us currently working on EPs at the same time.

*turns off internet and goes back to cubase*

too bad I'm really busy with a lot of projects for school this week, my EP is going to be WEAK.

I just wonder if any/how many famous people will be participating in this one.

i have ideas for about 6 tracks down at the moment, ill be lucky to get one of them finished

mine's coming along nicely! the plan is to have three tracks, each split into two parts - same concept as my 'music for triangles and/or numbers' ep on binkcrsh.

i stared 4 tracks last night. 2 are metroid inspired, the other two are not. Now I have to decide which 2 I want to work on, as I know I'm not going to get all 4 done...

i've gotten 2 tracks started, i've spent alot of time on the first.

i'm liking this thing

My computer died last week so I'm borrowing a laptop from a friend until my new one comes in.

i did 4 tracks yesterday. i like 2 of them and the other 2 are just shit - probably wont use 'em.

now back to work

i'm gonna do 3 tracks, 4 if i'm lucky, i got the whole idea of the ep in my head.

i got 2:24 so far... can't wait to finish all of this!

i laid down foundations for 3 tracks last night. gonna be techno housey under a different alias (quiliuq). i'll work on one a night for the rest of the week.

I'm learning that its useful to be able to anticipate when a new bit is heading down a dead end

hmm yeah, i just spent the last 3 or 4 hours on some weird reverby piece of shit. ha

last night i made 50 tracks

When I'm too busy to make music, I fantasize about having loads of time for it.

Now that I have a whole week to make music, I find that sitting for hours making music non stop is much harder in real life than in is in my imagination.

i'm suffering from a severe lack of motivation...

I've been staying up too late working on things and I've slept through most of my lectures so far this week... Happy but confused with one of my tracks, the others are meh

Started my first last night. Coming along nicely

3 days gone and I have 5 minutes of music that i am happy with

usually I average about 1 minute per month, this is great!

I got quite a bit done today. I'll have to DECENT songs done, totalling maybe 7 minutes or so, and POSSIBLY (can't tell yet) a 3rd. We shall see. The only problem is, while I may finish the 3rd, It doesn't fit with the other 2.

Put it this way, the 1st 2 songs are directly inspired by "Metroid", and the other is not. The question is, (and I ask you, the collective WATMM) should I include the 3rd song, even if it is TOTALLY different from the other 2?

yes. all of the songs i'm writing sound completely different to each other so far. i've also racked up around 30mins of almost-finished material already, from only two songs hahah! i love long sprawling pieces.

hmm. alright then, mayhap I will.

I'm useually not a "long sprawling pieces" fan myself. 15 minute songs is a bit much, unless it's something in the vein of "Mt. Saint Michel + Saint Michaels Mount Mix" or "Ziggomatic 17". I know neither of those are 15 min but if they were, I'd be down... My attention span is too short for music other than the best of "Drill" for me to listen to one song for 15 min. I dunno.

EDIT: Does your Acid stash have anything to do with that love Modey?
