Aphex Twin Bored in class, thought I'd make a weird topic

Strictly thinking of how electronic music is today, the current global financial situation, your taste in music, and the mass adoration you would come into as being him, what sort of album what you release if you were Aphex Twin (barring no 'back-to-basics' sound)

Me, I would release something with a classical sound...not classical in the sense of Erik Satie-ish or ICBYD, but more of an anthemic sound. Over that would be some well-placed break drops, squiggles, etc. The real twist would be having a more spacey feel to it...something that gives you the same uncomfortable feeling that SAWII tracks give you, but instead of 'I don't want to be alone right now', it would be 'this is really shaking my bones, I love it'.

but no, not all hungarian like snares attempted to make (keyword: attempted) and ended up just throwing uninspired breaks over some nicely placed string shots. nothing conventional as in classical instruments, more of a 'the world is ending/apocalyptic' feeling.

I guess the best example for what I'm trying to say would be xmd5a's 2nd melody, the one that rises more and more as the song plays out. that kind of melody, with less acid, more breaks (HAB/Drukqs would be the best example), and a spacey, loopy feeling to it as well.

P.S. You can tell how bored I am. I've been in this joke class for 3 hours.

sounds more like murcof's martes actually. snares was right in ur face.

I'd read somewhere the only thing he was impressed by nowadays was some of the better hip-hop producers, so I think he's going to do a downtempo beat-driven album, something of a cross between trip-hop and SAW III without making the songs too long.

at the same time the analords came out, i'd just gotten massive attack's 100th window. what i remember about that period of my (musical) life is listening to one when i got bored of the other. that and my own tunes! i like afx's older more hoppy albums........ can't speculate on the validity of your speculation, but i'd be v. cool with an album like that.
