i like the idea of bouncers that give you a weapon and you kill them to get in, then anyone who gets in is the next bouncer

i keep reading this thread title as 'IDM barbeque' for some reason, maybe because an IDM barbeque would be fucking great

If you were gonna do this you would have to make sure you include ambient and probably Acid Jazz or some kind of new-age music. IDM on it's own doesn't have the market. Ambient is the big one though, an ambient bar with some mixing with IDM and other alt electronica could def draw some sort of crowd.

idiron high fived me when windowlicker came on in a place we were at. if i remember correctly. an idm bar would be that moment over and over again.

sure, I wasn't talking about their personalities, I think their music sounds a bit like it takes itself too seriously sometimes (not much, I'm just kidding really) that's all. I bet they're sound people.

I didn't read all this thread but does anyone know of any IDM bars in Manchester? I generally hate going to clubs/bars in Manc, but if there were a place that served idmz I would definitely go.
