i'm a big fan of the tortilla wrap. where does it fit in, in this battle of the hand-held snack?

Oh, I forgot about the wrap. I love those as well. I should have made it sandwich vs taco vs wrap. It is kind of a hybrid, but I don't think it could be called a sandwich, or a taco.

i dont think ive ever had a taco. is it like a burrito?

no, it's a thin & flaky piece of cornmeal that's deep-fried until it tastes like nothingi but starch and oil. and a trace of stale corn-on-the-cob. what a joke. a joke AND obviously no match for the noble loaf of bread, whether it be sourdough bread, whole-grain, baguette-style white or rye. and when you begin to consider all the ways you can enhance the bread, with nuts (shimmering bread), olives, herbs, spices and seeds, then a dry bland taco just doesn't make any sense at all.

A nice, hand-made flour tortilla (or some nice corn ones, doubled up), filled with carne asada, pico de gallo, cebolla, cilantro, y salsa verde (made from fresh tomatillos) will KICK ANY SANDWICH'S ASS.

here's my beef with tacos:

what's the point of wrapping lots of crumbly bits of food up if you can't hold it in one hand without spilling half of it on yourself?

a really good fish taco with some pico de gallo and some lime and pussy juice wins out over a sandwich any day.

totally, braintree's taco is only good as a reference point because it's more likely someone unfamiliar might recognize it or something.

mmmmm authentic mexican tacos, even just plain w/cilantro and onions... but it's a tough call between the two, they both have their places though at this point i'm more likely to side with tacos.

i'm going to excuse this post because your experiences have been so far physically removed from mexico as to be irrelevant. the tacos you know are the pale, pissed-on shadows of an ancient, venerable and godly food. real tacos consist of:

fresh soft corn tortilla

carnitas, asada, chorizo, or chicken in green or red sauce

chopped fresh onion or pico de gallo

cilantro

fresh lime juice

and may also contain one or more of the following:

sour cream

guacamole

salsa verde/rojo (salsa verde is usally spicier, made with tomatillos, and is the preferred choice of experts.)

your mom having an orgasm in church as an unplanned abortion falls out of her vagiiina.

-----------come to america and i will give you a great taco, or go straight to the source. don't hate, girl, don't hate, get down.

now a great sandwich is something else entirely, and we are on the same page there. a fine food, sandwiches.

so real mexican tacos are soft? so how is it different to a tortilla?

those hard el paso taco things are just annoying, always crack into pieces after the first bite.
