Ego Posted June 4, 2009 Report Share Edit Hide Delete Posted June 4, 2009 (edited) I wasn't that impressed by Mass Effects graphics to be honest. Half-Life 2 to though, remember the huge gamer wankfest over that awesome E3 vid... And the new episodes have some fantastic lightning going on. They like to keep things subtle and I like that. A lot of the newer games use way too much specular. Not that I'm complaining, it will probably be a fantastic game (although keeping up with the other players I can see being a problem, although no game really has solved that issue successfully yet). I kinda wished that they had taken a new approach to Mario with Mario Galaxy 2 (instead of the galaxy idea, perhaps try a 'themed' Mario game like 1930's Mario, or Future Mario) instead of the Galaxy theme. They do say though, that 90% of the levels are new in it, and the Yoshis are a nice addition. awepittance
joyrex i think what i personally remember what impressed me about Half Life 2 (this is coming from somone who's never played the game) were the physics. it was the first game i ever saw with the rag doll physics done on human characters and you could throw objects around the room, etc. Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide awepittance's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/46047-official-e3-expo-thread/page/11/#findComment-1057539 Share on other sites
Guest ward
being an MASSIVE fan of half life, i remember getting that when i was 10 for christmas, and it ruined my life for a while, probably (started clanning cs and then dod, became a reclusive stoner gamer) the story was awesome to play through... then half life 2, which i had waited for, for years, was not a let down... infact i'm going to reinstall it and play it again =) gonna check on that cinematic mod!! Solo Strike
The first Uncharted was one of the most enjoyable games I've played in ages. The plot was a big hokey, but the characters and humour made you want to keep going - plus some awesome amounts of fun once you got the hang of it. Looking forwards to the next one a lot! lumpenprol
that is an amazing art and tech demo, but is incredibly linear. How linear was the original Uncharted? I would love it if a dev would devote this amount of resources to a more open-ended fps-rpg hybrid like Deus Ex. Something in-between the linearity of Half Life and the empty-sandboxness of GTA. Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide lumpenprol's signature Hide all signatures After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside. - lost cloud I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work! Mr.Sensi
Quote Is the PS3 ever going to get a price cut? Fanboy rage. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This bothers me a lot. They're already losing money on the thing. Why should they cut the price again? It costs 300 bucks to buy a 60 gig 360. Another 100 bucks for a wireless adapter. 50 bucks a year to play online. Do they come with a charger for the controller? I think I had to buy mine separately... There's another 20+ bucks. And then the fucking thing craps out on you!
