It seems like Mira Calix has put her music carreer on hold for a while new for a place in the artworld (she did some interesting TED talks too), but she is releasing a new record soon. Unfortunately, it'll be released by the Vinyl Factory so it'll most likely be heavily overpriced.

Music career. I don't think she ever had any music career, so she can effortlessly drift into quasi-compositional art void.

yeah, another artist i have yet to listen to all the work of though

I'm glad she's back, I love her music, but I really hope it's not one of those ridiculously overpriced limited releases that The Vinyl Factory sometimes put out. I'd like to be able to just pay for her music, not for a limited hand screen printed ritually sacrificed bespoke laser die-cut piece of cardboard with a standard 12" for 500 quid.

I'll just throw on my (normal 2LP) copy of Skimskitta on the decks now, my fave Mira Calix album.

Obviously not full-time, but a career nonetheless. How would you describe when a person releases albums / ep's / commission pieces for more than 15 years on well known labels, continiously performs/dj's and even had the honour of getting a Peel Session?
